We are looking for a Director, International Programs who will work in collaboration with the Vice President, International Cooperation and Programs and the CRC Heads of Regions to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. National Society (NS) partners' preparedness, recovery and long-term programs, globally. The Director, International Programs contributes towards the operational objectives of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and ensures the application of the International Cooperation and Programs Mandate: International Cooperation and Programs assists people impacted by crises by leveraging Canadian expertise across the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. It does so by developing and nurturing partnerships and maintaining a strategic presence around the world. As a Director - International Programs you will: Leadership and direction for International Programs Direct and manage the NS preparedness, recovery, capacity strengthening and long-term health programs in close coordination with Heads of Region and CRC Service-line holders. Drive the Localization transformation of CRC International programs, ensuring all programs are developed through the leadership of NS partners, and meet their needs and priorities. Contribute towards program development and funding in close coordination with the Business Development & Government Relations Hub. Plan the implementation of an annual operational and financial plan for international programs. Delivery of quality programing and results Ensure CRC programs and results adhere to CRC quality framework. Work closely with International Partnerships team to identify new programming & partnership opportunities to address priority needs, as identified in CRC Regional Strategies. Develop and implement a robust risk management culture with continuous program contingency planning and context analysis. Develop and maintain a metric dashboard with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor operations and provide strategic data. People Leadership - Build and maintain a strong team Drive overall talent development by supporting positive employee and volunteer experiences, recognize individuals and teams for contributing to the achievement of the organization's priorities. Provide active leadership in human resource planning and the management of subordinate employees and volunteers. Support succession planning efforts and ensure knowledge and resources are adequately transferred to incoming personnel during transition periods. Member of the ICP Senior Management Team (SMT) Collaborate with CRC Leadership & Heads of Region to set strategic direction, makes decision on international programs and grow strategic partnerships. Lead pipeline development and reporting for ICP, with close collaboration with the International Partnerships team. Ensures agility, efficiency and flexibility of processes, systems, and staff competencies to meet current and future operational needs. What we are looking for: Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Health or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum ten years' related work experience both in Canada and overseas, preferably with development and humanitarian sector experience, working closely with local partners. Experience managing complex international programs and multi-million-dollar budgets in complex, high-risk and/or fragile environments. Experience working with Donor Governments and Institutions on grants and contributions, preferably Government of Canada. Experience successfully managing and leading teams of diverse professionals, including local, field-based , remote or virtual management modalities. Experience within the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., and/or Red Cross movement is a strong asset. Knowledge of security management within complex and unstable environments with ability to assess and minimise risks. Demonstrated knowledge of the Red Cross Movement and commitment to its principles. Strong written and verbal communications skills in English (mandatory); French (mandatory); Spanish (preferred) and other regional languages are highly desirable. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation, analytical and influencing skills to interface effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong business acumen, problem solving and effective management skills including strategic and operational planning, program management, budgetary processes, resource allocation, evaluation, and change management. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite. Working Conditions May include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment. Will include travel internationally to complex, high risk, and potentially unstable environments, domestic or overseas travel to attend conferences, workshops and meetings as required. Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice. Ability to work in stressful and often ambiguous conditions. Must be able to be Medical Cleared for travel in accordance with established CRC Medical criteria in positions where travel will be required. Successful completion of a Canadian criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
