Cities listed in this posting are potential and not necessarily exhaustive.u00A0Job Summary: Senior Director Labour and Employee Relations is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, developing and delivering an effective labour relations strategy and is accountable to establish and maintain national practices and standards in Labour Relations. Key Responsibilities: Represents the organization for all union and labour relations matters. Supports sites in the development of labour relations strategies to foster effective working relationships with staff and union leadership. Develops bargaining strategies in collaboration with the Regional Executive Director and Managers at multiple provincial VON Sites. Assumes the role of Chief Negotiator for a select group of collective agreements. Manages an external vendoru00A0contract for the provision of negotiation services. Directs and manages contracted resources to both lead and complete negotiations. Oversees the implementation and administration of numerous collective agreements to ensure consistent compliance, interpretation and the resolution of grievances. Provides adviceu00A0to supportu00A0government legislation e.g. termination and severance, human rights and employment standards. Provides direction, guidance and coaching to non-unionized and operational management on how tou00A0deal with difficult staff interactions and situations Provides advice and coaching to ensure accurate and relevant reportingu00A0for the organizationu00A0asu00A0pertaining tou00A0labour and employee relations. Manages projects related to the Human Resources Department and organizational initiatives. Thorough knowledge of HR principles and applicable laws and regulations.
